Key Features
High strength
Thanks to the introduction of microalloying elements such as Nb, V, and Ti, these elements form fine-dispersed carbide and nitride particles in the steel, significantly refining the grain structure and thus enhancing the yield capacity of the material. In addition, the application of controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology further improves the strength uniformity, making the tensile strength of the Q460 carbon steel plate stable between 550–720 MPa.
Excellent welding performance
The Q460 steel plate reduces the hardening tendency of the heat-affected zone of welding through low-carbon (generally ≤0.20%) design, while optimizing the proportion of manganese, silicon, and microalloying elements, making the weld zone dense and reducing crack sensitivity. Good welding quality can be achieved without complex post-heat treatment under a normal welding process.
Excellent low-temperature toughness
The impact value of the Q460 carbon steel plate is ≥27J under -20°C to -40°C, which meets the requirements of low-temperature construction and use in cold areas, and prevents brittle fracture.
Good processing performance
The moderate yield ratio and good elongation (A≥17%) of the Q460 carbon steel plate make it stable in cutting, stamping, bending, rolling, and other processes, and it is not easy to crack or form errors, which makes it suitable for manufacturing complex components. Its uniform organizational structure and mechanical properties are conducive to batch-automated processing and improve production efficiency.
