Q345A Galvanized Steel Plate

Q345A Galvanized Steel Plate

Q345A galvanized steel plate is a type of low - alloy high - strength structural steel plate. It is made by galvanizing Q345A steel, which has a yield strength of around 345 MPa. The galvanized coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for outdoor applications like construction, infrastructure, and some light - industrial uses where durability against rust is needed. However, note that Q345A has certain limitations in impact toughness at lower temperatures compared to higher - grade Q345 steels.

Key Characteristics

Standard Zinc Coating

60-100

Moderate cost, basic corrosion resistance; suitable for dry/mildly humid environments

Medium-thick Zinc Coating

120-275

Better corrosion resistance; resistant to moisture and general atmospheric corrosion

Thick Zinc Coating

350-600+

High corrosion resistance; resistant to acid-alkali mist, coastal high salt spray, and industrial exhaust environments

Galvanizing Process

Surface Preparation:

Clean the steel sheet to remove oil, rust, and contaminants via degreasing, pickling, and rinsing.

Fluxing:

Apply a flux solution to prevent re-oxidation and aid zinc adhesion.

Galvanizing:

Immerse the sheet in a molten zinc bath (around 450°C) to form a zinc-iron alloy coating.

Cooling & Finishing:

Cool the galvanized sheet, then inspect, trim, or passivate if needed.

Best For

Hot-Dip Galvanizing (GI)

50–600 g/m² (typically Z100–Z275)

Outdoor structures, harsh environments (e.g., marine, industrial)

Electro-Galvanizing (EG)

10–30 g/m² (e.g., E8, E16, E24)

Indoor applications, electronics, automotive parts

Advantages

Advantages

Details

Corrosion Resistance

Zinc layer blocks corrosion, offers sacrificial protection. Long - lasting in harsh environments like coastal areas.

Mechanical Properties

Retains Q345A's high strength (yield/tensile). Good formability for bending, cutting, welding.

Cost - effectiveness

Higher initial cost but lower long - term costs (less maintenance, replacement). Stable supply cuts procurement costs.

Aesthetic Appeal

Uniform, shiny surface enhances visual look. Suits architectural exterior uses without extra coatings sometimes.

FAQ

Q: What is Q345A galvanized steel plate?
A: It's a low-alloy high-strength steel plate (Q345A grade) with a zinc coating for enhanced performance.

Q: What's the main purpose of the zinc coating?
A: To resist corrosion by blocking moisture/air and providing sacrificial protection for the steel.

Q: Can Q345A galvanized steel be welded?

A: Yes, but proper techniques (like preheating) may be needed to avoid zinc vapor issues.

Q:What's the difference between Q345A and Q345B?

A:

Q345A has lower impact toughness (no required Charpy test at -20°C).

Q345B has better low-temperature performance (tested at -20°C).

Q:How long does it take to ship after paying the final payment?

A:About 7-15 days.
